Two local men were sentenced to 15 years in prison Tuesday after being convicted on drug charges early last month.

In the first few days of April, juries found Reginald Antion Baker of Greenwood and David Duwyane Dickey of Grand Ridge guilty of the sale or delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine).

In both cases, the men were arrested as the result of Jackson County Drug Task Force sting operations involving undercover drug buys, according to court officials.

Their sentences were the maximum they could have received for the offense.

In asking for the maximum sentence, assistant state attorney Mark Sims said he did so “to deter them or anyone else from selling drugs in Jackson County.”

Dickey is expected to be back in court this month for a pretrial hearing on several other drug-related charges, according to officials.
