The Baptist College of Florida in Graceville will dedicate its newly constructed Prayer Chapel during a special service on May 9 at 10 a.m.
Focusing on the intent and how the structure will be utilized, BCF President Tom Kinchen will be joined by the college board of trustees for the service.
Dr. Craig Conner, pastor of First Baptist Church in Panama City, will be a featured speaker for the service. The Prayer Chapel was made possible through the generous support of Conner and his Panama City congregation.
On any given day, BCF students gather in the gazebo, cluster in the student center, or join together in dorm rooms praying for each other. In direct response to this need, the new prayer chapel will give faculty, students and staff a 24/7 facility used exclusively for prayer.
It is located directly behind the R.G. Lee Chapel.
According to Kinchen, there will be no classes scheduled or taught in the facility making the Prayer Chapel available for prayer at any time.
“The R. G. Lee Chapel on campus stands as the most visible symbol of our purpose and mission,” Kinchen said. “The new Prayer Chapel reminds us of the source of our call, commitment, and continuing service.”
The public is invited to attend the dedication. For more information, call (800) 328-2660, ext. 460.
