A husband and wife from the Sneads area spent Tuesday night in separate jail cells after authorities searched their home and allegedly found chemicals and other items commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Craig T. Hanlon and Rebecca Hanlon were each charged with unlawful possession of listed chemicals, attempted manufacture of a controlled substance, and child abuse in the case, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The Jackson County Drug Task Force conducted the search on the authority of a warrant Tuesday at the couple’s residence at 8252 Shady Grove Road.
According to the press release, investigators recovered iodine, hydrogen peroxide, muriatic acid, camp fuel, distilled water, containers containing suspect liquids, along with hotplate, a coffee grinder, microwave ovens, plastic tubing, disposable torches, and water bottle with holes in the lids.
The press release did not include any information related to the child abuse charges.
Bond for Craig Hanlon was set at $35,000, and at $2,500 for Rebecca Hanlon, according to Jackson County jail officials, and both were released Wednesday to await further court action.
