TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP ) - A Tallahassee man has been arrested for pulling a handgun on a state social worker who was checking on the welfare of the man’s month-old baby son.
Kendrick Porter, 22, was charged Monday with false imprisonment, aggravated assault and battery on the 44-year-old social worker. Porter, who was not supposed to be in contact with the mother and baby, feared his child was going to be removed.
Porter also apparently fired the gun outside the apartment before kicking the door in and then shoving it into the face of the state investigator, hitting his child on the head during the scuffle.
Authorities say the mother and female social worker were not injured. The baby was hospitalized for observation overnight.
