A former employee of the City of Marianna was arrested for stealing about $7,000 worth of city property.

Donald Joe Isler, 39, of 3253 Unce Joes Ln., Alford, was arrested Tuesday for grand theft, according to a report from the Marianna Police Department.

The arrest was a result of an investigation into the theft of brass water meter fixtures from the city’s waste water treatment plant, according to MPD. A warrant was then issued for Isler’s arrest.

Once arrested, according to authorities, Isler admitted to the thefts and stated he was selling the stolen items to support a drug problem.
