A physical altercation at Golson Elementary School Monday was apparently a family affair.
According to Marianna Police officer Donald Bland, the incident did not involve school faculty, but did happen on school property, near the playground area.
Bland said the incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. during a career day event in front of students.
Disputing family members happened to be at the school at the same time, said Bland, and an argument grew into a physical disturbance among the adult family members, one of them six or seven months pregnant.
MPD declined to name the adult parties involved in the incident.
No injuries were reported, said Bland.
Bland said three or four complaints were filed relating to the incident by family members.
“We all explained to them that because it happened on school grounds they could all be arrested and taken to jail for that reason,” said Bland.
No arrests were made, because the incident involved family members who had allegedly been disputing over the last month or so, said Bland.
The misdemeanor case will be passed on to the State Attorney’s Office, he said.
