Keeping an eye on Ike

Once again, emergency officials are asking residents to be wary of a storm on the horizon; but for good reason, according to officials.

Hurricane Ike’s projected path places it right in the Gulf of Mexico by Thursday afternoon, according to the National Hurricane Center.

As of Saturday evening, Ike was measured as a catgory four hurricane, and is expected to be a a category three on Thursday, according to NHC. Jackson County Emergency Managment Director Rodney Andreasen said he hopes residents will keep up efforts to prepare for storms such as Ike.
