Marianna man dies in Washington County crash

A single-vehicle crash in Washington County Wednesday ended fatally for an elderly Marianna man.
After the incident, Alsenior Batson, 77, was pronounced dead at the Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at Highway 90 and East Boulevard at about 7 p.m., said highway patrol.
For unknown reasons, Batson’s pick-up truck left the roadway, struck a mailbox, two sign posts, a fence and a large pine tree, according to highway patrol.
Highway patrol reported that Batson was not wearing a seat belt.
