Thundestorm, frequent lightning are possible today in Panhandle region

While no severe weather is expected in the Jackson County area today, thunderstorms and frequent lightning are possible during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee.

The outlook issued by the National Weather Service includes Southeast Alabama, the Florida Big Bend and Panhandle areas.
Some of the showers and thunderstorms could occur in the evening as well.

Wind gusts near 30 miles per hour are also possible during this time, according to the National Weather Service.
