A stop for speeding in Holmes County led to two subjects from Alabama being charged with possession of marijuana in excess of 20 grams and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.

According to a press release from the Holmes County Sheriff’s office, a deputy stopped a white Ford pickup driven by Crystal Starr Green, 23, of Abbeville, Ala., on State Road 2 for speeding, and a computer check showed that the passenger, Michael Todd Green, 25, of Abbeville, Ala., had an active warrant out of Pinellas County, Florida.

Green was arrested on the warrant, and during a search of the vehicle a large plastic bag containing about a pound of marijuana was found on the back seat. Also during the search, a 12-gauge shotgun was found.

The man and woman were then arrested.
