Indians hunt for first title
A year after coming up one win short of the school’s first-ever national championship, the Chipola Indians are heading back to Kansas for another shot at national glory.
The Florida state champions began their journey from Marianna to Hutchinson, Kan., Saturday and will open first-round play of the NJCAA tournament Tuesday against Seward County at 6:30 p.m.

Lady Hornets pick up another win
The Cottondale Lady Hornets picked up another win Monday in Altha, dominating in a 15-3 rout. Cottondale got a homerun by Michelle Bassin in the victory. Lady Hornets coach Cassie Whiddon praised her team's effort, particularly as the game went on. "We started out slow in this game but by the fourth inning we had picked it up," she said. "The girls started to really focus and hit."
Chipola looking for donations for Kansas trip
With its men's basketball state champions getting ready to travel to Hutchinson, Kan., to compete for a national championship March 18-22, Chipola College is asking for donations to fund the long trip and stay at the NJCAA tournament.

Raiders reach state title game after whipping Broward 95-74
The Okaloosa-Walton Raiders advanced to Saturday's FCCAA state title game with a thoroughly-impressive showing Friday in the semifinals against Broward in Marianna. Josh Hunter led five OW starters with 14 or more points with a 23-point effort as the Raiders cruised to a 95-74 win.
