Grand Ridge preps for recreation season

The Grand Ridge Recreation Department is ready to swing into action with 10 teams taking the field competing against other area teams.
Grand Ridge has two tee ball teams, softball teams, Dixie Youth AA (machine pitch), Dixie Youth Majors, along with one Dixie Boys squad and one Dixie Youth AAA.
Brawlers
Wayne Edenfield Mobile Home Movers is sponsoring the Grand Ridge Brawlers tee ball team.
They will be coached by Mac Edenfield and Derrick Harrell.
Taking the field to learn the game of baseball will be Zackery Edenfield, R. J. Helms, Tyler Edenfield, Payton Edenfield, Nathan Hollon, Brayden Harrell,
Hannah Frohock, Nikolas Halling, Nevin Hall, Amelia Montecon, Lane Tyus, Devin Shaw and Madison Edenfield.
Lil’ Spankers
The Lil’ Spankers tee-ball team is sponsored by Christian Covenant Church.
Coaches Rufus Ross and Brandi Ross will teaching the fundamentals of baseball while enjoying the season with Harley Ross, Abbey Jones, Reanna Harrell,
Wyatt Burch, Adryan Faria, Collin Alford, Abby Cozart, Cain Dykes, Jantzen Jackson, Bailie Ross, C. J. Harrell eagerly taking in the instruction.
Indians
Donald Wayne Barbee heads up the Dixie Youth AA League Indians team, which is sponsored by Ducky Johnson House Movers.
Barbee is sporting a young crew of eager athletes that include players as young as six competing in the 7-8 year old league.
Garrett Franklin, Colin Eubanks, Mac Danford, Evan Mathews, Chase Mathews, Johnny Sonte, Trentin Barbee, River Clark, Gage Banks, Jorian Wesley, Larry Williams and Coltin Free will all be working hard throughout the season for a starting spot in the rotation.
Bandits
The competing Dixie Youth AA team are known as the Bandits and is sponsored by Milsapp’s Dance Studio.
They are under the leadership of Jason Milsapp and will be donning black and red uniforms.
Madeline Wright, Tristan Mulder, Jackson Milsapp, Ashtyn Jeter, Zavier White, Austin Moody, Spencer Hart, Ethan Glisson, Lyrkin Morris, Addyson Lewis, Ryan Cloud, Tanner Mulder, and Trent Weeks round out the roster of players for the Bandits.
Apache Indians
Marianna Office Supply is sponsoring the Dixie Youth AAA Apache Indians.
Coach Larry Joe Harris will be looking for a winning and productive season from Dustin Shaw, Mason Jackson, Jonathan Lombardo, Vick Hunt, Steven
Mantecon, Timothy Smith, Bill Gentry, Kade Chatwood, Seth Harrell, Cade Hewett, Johnathan Campbell, Jesse Wayne Harris, Johnathan Hyaes and Garrett Moody. Harris will be assisted by Chuck Jackson.
Braves
Bill Moats will coach the Dixie Majors Grand Ridge Braves sponsored by Mercer Law Firm.
Josh Taylor, Hunter Johnson, Caleb Alexander, Dylan Bennett, Trent Moats, Andy Faria, Dallas Goff, Lane Edwards, Taylor Croft, Gage Bachelier, Trent Clark, Bryan Pettaway and Bryan Henry will be giving 100 percent on the field throughout the year.
Rocking “R” Farm Indians
Also competing in the Dixie Majors will be the Rocking “R” Farm Indians, coached by Charles Snead.
Snead will have Bill Campbell, Cliff Thames, and Randy Danford assisting him this year. Working hard on the field will be Dustin Snead, Chris Greene, Cory Johnson, Rudy Campbell, Ryne Danford, Gage Parker, Miles Thames, A. J. Johnson, Blake Johnson, Zane Chason, A. J. Sills and Carlos Diaz.
Indians
The lone Dixie Boys team will be under the leadership of veteran coach Wayne Edenfield and are sponsored by Wayne Edenfield Mobile Home Movers.
The Indians will have Doug Craven assisting Edenfield. Patrick McClain, Seth Craven, Wayne Driggers, Austin Branch, Brandon Moats, Austin Lombardo, Ron Brown, Aaron Green, Michael Mader, Billy Johnson, Garrett Harris, Seth Gilley, Hunter Suber and Chris Helms taking the field in anticipation of a winning season.
Belles
Coach Joe Chason will coach the Dixie Belles Softball team. Competing on the field for the Belles will be Jenna Sneads, Shelby Lawrence, Savanna Owens, Morgan Gainer, Jordan Thigpen, Jolie Johnson, Alex Maphis, Joni Bonine, Laura Williams, Erin Williams, Leah William and Micah Williams.
These girls bring not only recreation ball experience to the field but middle school competition as well.
Angels
The Dixie Softball Angels will be coached by Phyllis Daniels with assistance from Ty Daniels.
Lisa Johnson, Seirra Kelley, Bree Davis, Haley Barbee, Rylie Bachelier, Heather Collis, Shania Carpenter, Delaina Barbee, and Ayleen Faria will be working hard to pick up the skills to compete this season.
Grand Ridge teams will be participating in the opening day at M.E.R.E. on Saturday before beginning regular season league play.
