The Chipola Indians wrapped up a disappointing NJCAA tournament Saturday with an 84-66 win over Paris in Hutchinson, Kan.

The victory secures a seventh-place finish for Chipola, which was eliminated from title contention after an opening-round, overtime loss to Seward Tuesday.

Mario Little led the Indians Saturday with 21 points in his final game with Chipola.

Vernon Teel scored 18 and Gary Flowers added 14.

Chipola trailed 11-4 in the early minutes of the game, but used a 10-3 run to close the half to take a 39-31 lead at halftime.

Clevin Hannah made two 3-pointers back-to-back to put Chipola up 37-29.

Another 3-pointer by Hannah early in the second half put the Indians up 43-34.

A basket by Little, a triple from Antwon Hall, a jumper by Malik Alvin, a layup by Casey Mitchell and a bucket by Teel constituted an 11-2 Chipola run for a 60-43 advantage.

Consecutive baskets by Little and Teel staked the Indians to their biggest lead of the game at 84-63.

The Indians had 10 different players score in the game and shot 54 percent from the field.

Chipola finishes the season with a record of 35-2, the 35 wins a school record.
