After 17 innings of play, the Chipola Lady Indians remain perfect in conference action.
Game one of the double-header against the Tallahassee Lady Eagles went 10 innings before Chipola managed a 3-2 victory while game two was a seven inning 4-0 shutout.
Brooke Muth picked up the win in game one, going all 10 innings.
Muth faced only 32 batters, two over the minimum, gave up two runs on four hits and one walk, fanning seven.
Of those seven hits, one came from former Marianna High School star Mary Helen Tyler who is now in her second year at TCC.
Tyler was 1-for-3 in game one.
Leading Chipola in hitting was Destiny Covington, who was 3-for-5 and accounted for all three RBI in game one.
Carolyn Moore returned to the lineup following a 15-day absence to go 1-for-4, as did Chastity Covington.
Kasey Henderson was 1-for-5 in game one.
Amber Weeks went the distance for the Lady Indians in game two, had no runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three.
Tera Gainer led the Lady Indians in hitting, going 3-for-3, followed by Kasey Henderson who was 2-for-4. Melody Moore was 1-for-3 and Alyssa Shirey and
Brooke Muth were both 1-for-2. Carolyn Moore was 1-for-3.
The Lady Indians are now 6-0 in conference play and are preparing to make it an 8-0 start.
For that to happen they will have to get past conference foe Gulf Coast Community College, which has another former MHS softball star on its roster in Jill Mathis.
Mathis was part of four district championships for the Lady Bulldogs and has continued her dominance on the mound for Gulf Coast.
The Lady Commodores come to town on April 2.
Double-header action is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at Chipola Softball Field.
