In Dixie Youth Angels Softball, People’s Funeral has been dominating the league with six wins and no losses on the season.
In the last four wins, People’s Funeral Home has outscored its opponents 46-24.
Taniyah Rogers, Baylee Childs and Kaitlyn Register have combined their pitching strengths to keep the opposition off balance at the plate.
Rogers has picked up two of the last four wins with Childs and Register taking a win each from the other two games.
Offensively, People’s Funeral Home is solid with Rogers and Valerie Sims leading the team with an .800 batting average, something a major-leaguer can only dream about.
Rogers has an on base percentage of .900, while Sims is right on her skirt tail with an .857 percentage.
Alexi Nix is very patient at the plate, boasting an .857 OBP with a .750 batting average that includes a home run. Lexie Basford and Sohia Pereda are both a challenge to the opposing pitchers with a .777 OBP.
Pereda also has a .667 batting average on the season.
Ansley Carter is the envy of anyone who has ever played the game reaching base in every plate appearance.
Hannah Barfield and Delaney Basford are proud as peacocks with a .667 OBP.
Kaitlyn Register and Baylee Childs are on board with a .428 batting average.
Erika Pereda has only had one chance to make contact with the ball but has reached base half of the time she’s been to the plate.
People’s Funeral Home is set to defend their unbeaten record on Thursday night when they host Sneads I at Optimist Park.
First pitch is slated for 6:45 p.m.
The early game on Thursday will pit Fastlane Computers against Sneads II.
