Hot bats carry Rotary past Sneads

The Dixie Youth Majors continued in action Monday night at Optimist Park with the Rotary handing Sneads a 15-2 loss.
Heath Roberts picked up the win for Rotary, going four innings with two runs scored on five walks, four strikeouts and three hits.
In the top of the first inning, Glover lined a shot to center but was out at second when he tested the arm of Johnathan Mayes. McIntosh drew a two-out walk but was left stranded when the next batter flew out to Madison Harrell at first.
In the bottom of the inning, Kody Bryan bunted his way to first and moved to third on a single by Harrell. Tyler Colson doubled to score two runs. Roberts was issued a walk and scored on a double by Bo Hughes. Hughes was out trying to steal home on a passed ball. Mayes walked and stole his way home on passed balls. Austin Nelson drew a walk but two outs followed to end the inning.
In the top of the second inning, Roberts retired the side in order. Rotary added four runs in the bottom of the second inning. Tyler Prim had a lead off walk and with one out, moved to third on a single by Bryan. Harrell doubled to score both runners and Colson’s double scored Harrell. Colson scored on a passed ball and following a walk to Roberts, the inning ended on a strikeout and pop up.
In the top of the third inning, Creamer and Jackson both drew walks to start things off. Rodgers singled to center to score Creamer for the only run of the inning.
In the bottom half of the frame, Evan Wester took one for the team with one out and moved to third on a double by Purvis. Prim drew a walk to load the bases and Xavier Lampley picked up an RBI on a walk that scored Wester. Bryan singled to score Purvis. Colson singled to center scoring Prim and Roberts singled to scored Colson. A strikeout ended the inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, Bunting drew a lead off walk but was thrown out trying to steal second. With two outs, Hester walked and stole second. McIntosh singled to score Hester on an errant throw at from second. A strikeout ended the inning and the game.
Action continues Thursday night at Optimist Park with games starting at 5:30 p.m.
