Action continued this week in Dixie Boys action at Optimist Park.
On Tuesday night, Zaxby’s picked up a 14-3 win over visiting Chipley Spencer.
Adam DeWitt went the distance on the mound for Zaxby’s, allowed three runs, two earned on five hits, one error and ten strikeouts.
Chipley picked up one run in the top of the first but Zaxby’s answered with five in their half of the frame.
Taylor Strauss led off with a walk and stole his way home.
DeWitt followed with a walk and scored when J. T. Meadows reached first safely on an error at short.
With two outs, Sean Henry singled, stole second and took third on a passed ball.
Devin Ranew drew a walk and both runners scored on a single by Gavin Shouppe.
Chipley added one run in the top of the second but Zaxby’s countered with two in the bottom of the inning.
Forest Sammons singled with one out. With two outs, Richard Reed and Strauss drew walks to load the bases for DeWitt’s two RBI single.
Zaxby’s held a 7-2 lead after two innings of play.
Chipley added their final run in the top of the third inning before DeWitt retired seven of the next eight batters.
Zaxby’s picked up three runs in the third. Chris Johnson singled and moved to third on stolen bases.
Henry walked to put runners on the corners and Ranew’s double scored two with Ranew taking home on the throw.
Zaxby’s picked up four runs in the fourth inning. Tavious Blackshear drew a one-out walk and scored on a single by Reed.
Singles by Strauss and DeWitt scored two more runs with the final run coming when Meadows reached on an error at second.
A walk to Mackenzie Taylor and a single by Johnson loaded the bases but a fly ball to second doubled up the runner to end the inning.

In the nightcap game, Rahal-Miller bounced back from a 10-5 loss on Monday night to Grand Ridge to pick up a come-from-behind victory over Alford.
Seth Singletary singled home two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game with a 12-11 victory for Rahal-Miller.
Mason Melvin took the mound for Rahal-Miller, going three innings before Singletary came on to close out the final two innings.
Melvin gave up 11 runs on 10 hits, three errors and five walks.
Singletary gave up no runs on one hit, one walk and had one error committed behind him.
Rahal-Miller picked up one run in the first inning. Zac Davis led off with a walk but was out trying to steal third. Clayte Rooks doubled and scored on a single by Jae Elliott.
In the third, Rahal-Miller plated four runs but missed a golden opportunity for more runs when they left the bases loaded.
Bradly Middleton got things going with a single and Rooks singled him home.
Elliott picked up another RBI on a single that scored Rooks.
Singletary singled to put runners on the corners and Melvin’s dropped ball in left field scored two.
A single by Tyler Blank put runners on the corners and Jonathan Githens walk loaded the bases the Davis flew out to the catcher to end the inning.
Rahal-Miller added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it an 11-8 ball game.
Rooks took one for the team and moved to second when Singletary was issued a walk.
A single by Melvin scored one and with two outs, Hunter Dillard picked up two RBI.
Four consecutive walks in the fifth inning plated one run before Singletary’s single ended the game with two runs plated.

In Monday night’s action, it was Grand Ridge hosting Rahal-Miller.
Brandon Moats started on the mound for Grand Ridge, going 4 1/3 innings before being relieved by Patrick McClain for the final 1 2/3 innings.
For Rahal-Miller, it was Bradly Middleton getting the starting nod before giving way to Jae Elliott.
Middleton went two innings, gave up six runs on five hits, and three walks.
Elliott went three innings, giving up four runs on two hits, one walk and one hit batsman.
Rahal-Miller scored two runs in the top of the first inning. Zac Davis reached on an error at second and stole second.
Middleton was hit by a pitch and Rooks and Elliott combined for consecutive sacrifices to plate Davis.
Grand Ridge countered in the bottom of the inning with four runs. Garrett Harris led off with a triple. Patrick McClain used his speed to turn a double into an inside-the-park home run scoring two.
Michael Mader singled and moved to second when Aaron Green drew a walk.
With two outs, Seth Craven reached on an error at first to score Mader. Blake Edenfield picked up an RBI on a single that scored Craven.
Grand Ridge added two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Wayne Driggers walked to get things started and stole second. A walk to Chris Helms put runners at first.
Garrett Harris hit a ground ball to short to that got Helms at second and scored Driggers.
Grand Ridge added one run in the third inning. Austin Branch reached on an error at short followed by Moats taking advantage of a second base error to put runners on the corners. Craven sacrificed Branch home before a ground out ended the inning.
Rahal-Miller rallied for three runs in the fifth inning. Tyler Blank drew a lead-off walk and moved to second on a single by Davis.
Middleton singled to score one and Rooks followed with an RBI single.
Grand Ridge countered in the bottom of the fifth with three runs. A lead-off single by McClain got things going with McClain moving to third on a sacrifice by Mader.
Green singled home McClain and Branch reached on an error at third, scoring another. An error at third allowed another run to score before the inning ended on a fly out to second.
McClain retired the side on strikeouts in the sixth inning to end the game.
Action continues at Optimist Park Thursday with games scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
