MARIANNA, Fla. – Following a sometimes heated public forum on the upcoming electric utility referendum, the city hall crowd thinned a bit and the Marianna City Commission convened for its regular meeting Tuesday night.

Presentations to the commission included a report from Marianna Health & Rehabilitation Center Administrator Melinda Gay, who updated commissioners on the progress of the facility’s current flooring project and made note that, if approved, the governor’s proposed budget may provide for a slight increase in nursing home funding; a glowing auditor’s report from Sara Applewhite, a CPA with the accounting firm Carl, Riggs & Ingram ; and a resolution, read by Charlotte Brunner, director of Main Street Marianna, in which Main Street voiced its support for the city with regard to the April 9 electric utility referendum.
