Obert Funeral Home 1556 Brickyard Road Chipley, Florida 32428 850-638-2122 www.obertfuneralhome.com Edgar Baxley Mr. Edgar "Ed" Baxley, 80 of Cottondale, went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Ed was born December 28, 1933 in Faydette, Alabama to Joseph and Winnie (Bateman) Baxley. A lifelong resident of the panhandle, Ed served in the United States Navy, and was a mechanic by trade. He was a member of Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Kynesville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Betty Jean Baxley; parents: Joseph and Winnie Baxley; son: Randall Keith Baxley; daughter: Kim Rena Vickery. He is survived by his two daughters: Teresa Lynn Stone and husband David of Blountstown, Florida, Karen Denise Odom of Cottondale, Florida; brother: Sherman Baxley of Grand Ridge, Florida; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Kynesville, Florida with Rev. Donnie Hussey. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at Salem Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
